A prepaid wallet makes three numbers easy to confuse: the cash you paid this period, the lead charges you consumed, and the balance left at the end. When a plan fee is added to the wallet as credit, that fee funds lead purchases. It should be counted once, as cash paid, and never added again on top of the leads it paid for. This calculator keeps the three numbers apart.

Three wallet questions

  • “If I take a plan and buy ten leads, what does the month actually cost me in cash?”
  • “I have an old balance. How much new money do I need?”
  • “I paid for a plan and barely bought anything. Where did the money go?”

Result

Results calculate in your browser. JavaScript is needed for the live result; the formula below works by hand.

Cash paid this period: —

Top-up needed
—
Lead charges consumed
—
Ending wallet balance
—
Opening balance used
—

Ending balance is subject to the provider's actual expiry, renewal and cancellation terms, which this model does not assume.

The defaults show one month on DrivenSellers’ Starter plan with ten grade C leads: a $99 plan fee credited to the wallet and $990 of lead charges. Enter 0 for “Membership fee” to model buying without a plan, which DrivenSellers allows for ordinary purchases.

Cash paid, charges consumed, balance left

OutputUnitMeaning
Cash paid this periodUSDMembership cash + wallet top-ups + fees paid outside the wallet
Top-up neededUSDThe smallest extra deposit that keeps the wallet from going negative
Lead charges consumedUSDThe listed prices of the leads you bought, before any credit
Ending wallet balanceUSDPrepaid capacity left, subject to the provider’s actual terms
Opening balance usedUSDMoney you paid in an earlier period that funded charges now

Use cash paid for budgeting and cash flow. Use lead charges consumed (net of approved credits) as the numerator in a cost-per-outcome calculation. An ending balance is not a cost yet and not a saving; it is money already paid that has not been spent.

The wallet ledger

Simple month (no opening balance, no credits, no other charges):
  top_up_needed  = max(0, L − M)
  cash_paid      = M + top_up_needed
  ending_wallet  = max(0, M − L)

Full ledger:
  available      = opening_wallet + M
  charges        = L + other_wallet_charges
  top_up_needed  = max(0, charges − available)
  ending_wallet  = available + top_up_needed + approved_credits − charges
  cash_paid      = M + top_up_needed + fees_outside_wallet
  opening_used   = min(opening_wallet, charges)

where
  L = lead charges this period (USD)
  M = membership fee paid this period and credited to the wallet (USD)

Approved credits are left out of available on purpose. A credit refunds a lead you have already paid for, so it reaches the wallet after the charge and cannot fund that same period’s purchases. It lands in the ending balance instead.

The ledger always balances: opening + membership credit + top-ups + approved credits − lead charges − other wallet charges = ending balance.

Five cases the engine is tested against

Each case uses DrivenSellers’ listed prices and plan amounts as plain numbers; the arithmetic is the same for any wallet that credits a fee one-for-one.

CaseInputsLead chargesTop-upCash paidEnding wallet
1. No paid plan10 C leads at $99, M = $0$990$990$990$0
2. Starter fully used10 C leads at $99, M = $99$990$891$990$0
3. No leads boughtL = $0, M = $99$0$0$99$99
4. Credit exceeds spendingOne $99 lead, M = $299$99$0$299$200
5. Existing walletOpening $100, M = $99, charges $150$150$0$99$49

Read across each row and the ledger closes. Case 5: $100 + $99 + $0 − $150 = $49, and $100 of the $150 was funded by money paid in an earlier period.

An approved credit

The engine is also tested on a credited lead. With no plan, you buy one A+ lead at $349 and DrivenSellers later approves a $349 credit for it. You still had to fund the $349 when you bought it, so top-up and cash paid are both $349. The credit then returns to the wallet: the ending balance is $349. The credit is not a negative cost and does not reduce this period’s cash; it is prepaid capacity for your next purchase. For cost per outcome, the net lead charge on that lead is $0, counted once.

Why $1,089 is wrong

The most common error is to add the plan fee to the lead charges: $99 + $990 = $1,089. That counts the $99 twice. It was paid once in cash, then sat in the wallet and paid for one of the ten leads. The leads cost $990; the cash that bought them was $99 of plan fee and $891 of top-up, also $990. Cases 1 and 2 have identical cash and identical lead charges. On these numbers the plan did not cost extra and did not save anything. What it changed was what you get alongside the leads: DrivenSellers lists early access and AutoMatch auto-buy for plan members (Plan members see new exclusive leads 15, 30 or 60 minutes early, can use AutoMatch auto-buy up to a monthly cap, and get a priority account manager). The per-lead price does not move: A plan gives no per-lead discount; leads stay at their listed grade price.

Cases 3 and 4: when the plan exceeds spending

If you buy less than the plan amount, the difference is still cash out of your account. In case 3 you paid $99 and bought nothing. In case 4 you paid $299 and consumed $99. The balance left over ($99 or $200) is not “free”, and it is not a negative lead cost. Whether it rolls over, expires or can be withdrawn depends on the provider’s terms. On DrivenSellers’ public pages rechecked on 16 October 2026, credit already added stays in the account after a plan stops, but expiry and rollover terms are not stated, so this tool does not assume any.

Periods, credit timing and terms not modelled

  • Period. The tool models one period at a time. Carry an ending balance into the next period as its opening balance.
  • Credit timing. Approved credits are treated as arriving after the charge they refund. They never reduce the top-up or cash needed in the period they are entered, and they increase the ending balance. If a credit came back early enough that you spent it on another lead within the same period, the tool will show a higher top-up than you actually paid. To model that, split the period at the date the credit arrived and carry the first part’s ending balance in as the second part’s opening balance.
  • Approved credits only. Enter credits actually approved and returned to the wallet. 5 days from purchase to report an exclusive lead as not as described; an approved request credits the price back to the wallet. Credits cannot exceed the lead charges they refund.
  • Other wallet charges. Use this for anything else paid from the same wallet, such as Data Pool records at $0.20 each.
  • Not modelled. Taxes, card fees, plan renewal dates, cancellation timing and any expiry rule. Add them as fees outside the wallet, or adjust the opening balance, once you have the actual terms.

Data date

Plan amounts were rechecked on DrivenSellers’ public pages on 16 October 2026: Starter $99, Growth $299 and Scale $999 a month; each plan fee is added to the wallet as credit. The terms page should be read before relying on any balance after cancellation. The engine is a tested function that runs in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

If you are deciding whether to take a plan

The cash figures above do not change with what follows.

Cases 1 and 2 cost the same cash for the same leads, so a first test on DrivenSellers needs no plan. A plan earns its place only if earlier access to new leads or auto-buy fits how you buy.

Optional: a selective test

Buy individual leads without a plan

DrivenSellers is our recommended starting point if you want to read an exclusive seller lead's card, choose it individually and pay a listed grade price, without a required membership.

  • Price before purchase: listed by grade, $99 (C) to $349 (A+), shown on the card.
  • No plan needed: optional plans credit their fee to your wallet; they do not discount leads.
  • One buyer per lead through DrivenSellers; the card shows motivation, timeline, occupancy, repairs and equity before you pay.

Limits: Inventory varies by market. Grades score the seller's stated answers; they do not guarantee a contract or closing and have not been validated against outcomes. You have 5 days to report a lead as not as described; approved requests are wallet credit, and some providers state longer windows.

Other providers price membership differently. Some memberships are a fee that lowers the per-lead price rather than a credit that funds it; our membership credits guide works through that difference.
