Cost guides and price research
The calculators do the arithmetic; these pages explain what goes into it. Read them when a result surprises you or before you choose the assumptions for a test.
Guides explain one metric or decision each, with a worked example labelled as illustrative. Research pages compile published provider prices and terms with the date they were checked. None of them is a close-rate benchmark: we have not measured lead outcomes, so your own results are the only conversion data that should go into a model.

Cost per lead versus cost per contract: why the cheaper lead can cost moreCost per lead divides spend by leads; cost per contract and cost per closed deal divide the same spend, plus handling, by far fewer outcomes. A lower lead price only wins if it does not lose more than proportionally in conversion.
Lead grade economics: the break-even rate each grade price requiresEach grade price implies a minimum lead-to-close rate: (price + handling) ÷ contribution per deal. Whether a grade clears its bar is something only your own outcomes can show; the grade itself is not a measured probability.
Owner records and seller inquiries: two different acquisition costsWith records you buy data cheaply and pay for the conversation yourself; with inquiries the seller has started the conversation and you pay for that in the price. Compare full cost per close, and only after checking you have the outreach capacity.
